Jenna is a hard working enthusiastic trainer who believes in setting goals and developing a strong foundation in riding, care and management for the horse. Her coaching develops self-confidence and mind/body awareness that translates to all aspects of life. Her exceptional horsemanship skills show in all areas of her work.
Jenna’s background began at the age of seven, taking lessons after school on one of her elementary school teacher’s horses. She then joined Pony Club at the age of nine. Breaking her first horse at the age of 12 and turning to the Eventing industry where she developed young horses up to the intermediate and CCI** levels. Her numerous Championships showed the talent she carried in the sport. She was selected to represent BC at the North American Young Riders Championships in Chicago, but sold her horse prior to the competition. Jenna also worked to achieve her ‘A’ standard in Pony Club, during which time she gained coaching experience helping other young riders progress. In 2004, Jenna turned professional and moved to the Hunter Jumper industry;backing, developing and competing numerous talented young horses up to the 1.3m(4’3”).
In 2005, Jenna attended the Farrier Science Program at Kwantlen Polytechnic University, and served a 3 year apprenticeship with her now husband, Iain Ritchie see Farrier. She also became an American Certified Farrier. Jenna and Iain married in August 2011, and began building their facility shortly after.
As horse’s are complex animals, one never stops learning, Jenna still works closely with top professionals like Claudia Cojocar(who has produced many international riders), Jeff Campf (Current Grand Prix rider), Shelley Campf (World Champion Hunter rider) and has ridden with Mark Laskin (Chef d’equipe for the Canadian Team) for many years.
